There was a time when what people wore had to do with the resources available to them. People would kill animals for food, then use their fur fashion for much needed clothing in order to stay warm and comfortable. The harder the animal fur fashion was to come by, the more exotic and valuable it would be. This is simple economics, supply and demand.

Then man discovered oil and its' many uses. Not only is it used for fuel, but it is also used to make synthetic fabrics such as polyester and acrylic. Suddenly, this non-renewable resource gained more favor as people were being told that the use of real fur for fashion was inhumane. Some people in their inability to search for the truth, would buy faux fur coats made from the petroleum based synthetic fibers. Little did many of them know that they were contributing to the destruction of the planet in order to try to be synthetically warm in the winter and look fake chic.

As our demand for oil became more and more pervasive, oil industries became more and more greedy. Today we are at war like barbarians, trying to control countries that have become rich and sick with power due to their abundance of this non-renewable resource.

Fortunately, much of today's youth are sick of wars and the destruction of the planet. They are looking at the truth of the matter and seeing that the mad thirst for oil if causing so much harm and destruction that our dependence on it must be stopped.

Below are three reasons there being a resurgence in the popularity of real fur fashion due to our current planetary situation.

fur fashion is made of acrylic, nylon, and polyester. As previously mentioned, these synthetic materials come from petroleum, a non-renewable source. In addition, the amount of energy needed to process the petroleum into the synthetic materials is a sizeable amount. So unfortunately, plastic is still plastic, even when it has a fashion tag.

The youth of today are sophisticated consumers. This is primarily because technology gives them resources for researching information before making purchases. They don't rely on radical messages for their information but rather evaluate both sides of a story in order to determine their own conclusions and what is socially responsible and ethical behavior. For the past twenty years radical groups such as PETA have violently rallied against the fur trade while wearing leather shoes, shearling boots and faux fur coats made from petroleum. Much of today's' youth are abhorred rather than persuaded by radical groups that try to stop consumers from choosing for themselves, through violence and intimidation

The new generations' desire to wear natural fur fashion that are luxurious and bio-degradable has made them desire real fur coats more than ever. This is exemplified by numerous young movie stars, music icons, fashion models and professional athletes adorning themselves in fur fashions.

Thanks to the internet, many retailers can now operate solely online. By eliminating the need to have a brick-and-mortar store, overhead costs are slashed and this huge savings is passed on to the consumer. Today there are numerous fur fashion that only sell their fur coats online. They are able to fur fashion globally and have made them affordable to almost everyone. With so many shipping options available and safe payment processing, ordering a fur coat online is easier and smarter than driving around looking for your perfect fur coat.
